Privacy Policy
How Redwood Draft Ventilation Co. handles the information you share with us.
Last updated: 12 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Redwood Draft Ventilation Co. ("we", "us", "our") collects when you use http://blog.intercoolventilation.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We are a small ventilation contractor in Crescent City, California; we are not in the business of selling data, and we don't.
1. Who we are
Redwood Draft Ventilation Co.
35 Fairway Drive, Crescent City, CA 95531
Phone: 707-465-0980
Email: developer@blog.intercoolventilation.com
Business owner and data contact: Holly Fitzgerald
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Enquiry details — your name, phone number, email address, property type, selected service and the message you write when you use our contact form or email us.
- Service records — where you become a customer, the address of the work, equipment details, invoices and correspondence relating to the job.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs — our hosting provider records IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of each request. These logs exist for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies — a small local record of your cookie choice, plus optional analytics if you consent. See our Cookie Policy.
We do not collect payment card details through this website. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
3. How the contact form works
This is a static website with no database. When you submit the enquiry form, your browser opens your own email application with the details pre-filled; you press send. That means the information reaches us as an ordinary email and is not stored on this website's server at any point.
4. Why we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote (our legitimate interest in answering prospective customers).
- To carry out and document work you have engaged us for (performance of a contract).
- To meet legal, tax, licensing, permitting and insurance obligations (legal obligation).
- To improve the website, where you have consented to analytics cookies (consent).
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing email unless you specifically ask to be added to a list.
5. Sharing
We share information only where it is necessary:
- Our hosting provider, which processes server logs on our behalf.
- Our email provider, which delivers and stores correspondence.
- Equipment suppliers and manufacturers, where a warranty registration or a special-order part requires the installation address.
- Building departments and inspectors, where a permit requires it.
- Professional advisers (accountant, insurer, legal counsel) where relevant.
We never sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become jobs: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Customer job records, invoices and commissioning reports: 7 years, in line with California contractor and tax record requirements.
- Server logs: typically 30–90 days, depending on our host's retention settings.
7. Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection where supported by the host. Email correspondence is held in access-controlled accounts protected by multi-factor authentication, and paper job files are kept in a locked office. No system is perfect, but we keep the amount of data we hold deliberately small, which is the most effective protection available to a business our size.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time, via the cookie settings link in the footer.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion, and are entitled not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA, so no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism is required — but you may still contact us with any request.
To exercise any right, email developer@blog.intercoolventilation.com or call 707-465-0980. We respond within 45 days and may ask a question or two to confirm your identity before releasing information.
9. Third-party links
This site links to a small number of external pages, such as a mapping service. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be noted prominently on the homepage for at least 30 days.
11. Contact
